Some of the things that should be implemented to maintain a healthy smile are:

– Avoid snacking: More saliva is produced while eating a full meal than when eating a snack. The more saliva that is produced, the more it will be able to fight the enzymes and acids that are introduced to your teeth from the food you eat. Snacking between meals allows food particles to remain on teeth longer which can trigger the build up of plaque.

– Chew sugarless gum- Chewing sugarless gum after a meal is beneficial because it prolongs the production of saliva.
