You probably know that there are several different types of toothbrushes you could choose. However, did you know that there are a few things you’ll need to do if you’re hoping to care for your toothbrush properly? For instance, did you know that you should never share your toothbrush with anyone?
In reality, you should buy a new toothbrush every three to four months. This is partially done because your brush can harbor bad bacteria. Furthermore, not everyone has the same bacteria, meaning different brushes can harbor different bacteria. This means sharing your brush with someone else could leave you susceptible to problems like gum disease.
Furthermore, many people bleed when they brush their teeth. Your toothbrush can also harbor blood. While this may not seem like an overly serious problem, it will leave you more vulnerable to problems like herpes, hepatitis, and other blood-borne diseases.
If you find yourself somewhere without a toothbrush, there are a few things you can try. For example, you might consider using mouthwash. You can also brush your teeth with your finger. Finally, you could also use apples or drink peppermint tea to freshen your breath.
